Urban Guild Foundation- Providing New Architectural Ideas

The Guild Foundation intends to be one of the best collections of resources for designing great architecture and urbanism. Guild workshops are taught by some of the best architects in the business, and focus on specific detailing issues. Guild Tool Factory is becoming a great tool collection. Some of the tools are proprietary and are therefore for sale, but more of them are public domain. Many are even open-source. The Guild currently has one publication, but more are on the way. The New Urban Guild provides a wide range of resources to assist in the design of traditional urbanism and architecture.

The first resource of the Guild is its members. The Guild relies heavily on the work of other organizations, and includes links to their websites. Articles originally written for the Guild News Page are archived in our resources. Architecture and urbanism are idea-based endeavors, and success at either of them is heavily based on exposing oneself to many ideas.

The New Vernacular is one of the greatest new developments in architecture today. Briefly, the vernacular process allowed millions of average people to create the Most-Loved Places from the dawn of time until about 1925. Today, only a handful of the most talented architects and planners can create such places. The New Vernacular aims to put the power of great place making back into the hands of the millions again. Town Planning is an essential part of the process of place making such as in the St. Martin Brown region.

Nucon Steel – Building with A Frame 700 Roll Former

The Series 700 Roll Former is the machine component of the NUFRAME™ system. Input data transferred directly from the design software automatically provides all the intelligence the roll former needs to produce assembly ready panels. The computer controlled, servo driven machine precisely rolls out the stud profile through seven progressive stations. Once the steel exits the roll cage and enters the tool head, the full power and value of the roll former is realized. Seven separate hydraulic functions – cut to length, web notch, swage, squash, rivet punch, electric service punch and plumbing service punch – work together to produce components completely ready for assembly. Technology refined to eliminate the need for any additional cutting, measuring or even layout.
