Gulf Coast Region – New Orleans

Buloxi, New Orleans-based Housing International is mobilizing for an unprecedented rebuilding effort that was initiated in March 2006. Housing International is planning on building hundreds of new homes in Orleans, Jefferson and St. Bernard and other storm-ravaged Parishes and the Gulf Coast to provide people with affordable dwellings that can withstand the toughest conditions. All homes are built with steel frames, making them not only stronger, but also much faster to construct than wood houses, and just as flexible for expansion and modification. Katrina has challenged American industry to find a solution that is faster, better and less expensive than the old system, and we are proud to say that these houses are one of the answers.
